Equal opportunity employment

Equal access to employment policy and program

The City of Châteauguay provides working conditions that greatly encourage the professional growth of its employees and where values such as ethics, the acceptance of differences, respect, honesty, the right to make mistakes, innovation, teamwork and the participation of all in the search for solutions is the recurring theme.

Our management philosophy is to ensure and promote a healthy, competent and efficient administration, as well as the coordination, constructive dialogue, solidarity and the principles of teamwork.

To maintain good relations between the city and its employees and equality in working conditions that encourages the professional growth of its employees.

Our mission is to “provide residents, our client, with high-quality services from the first intervention"..

Our employees benefit from excellent working conditions and our permanent personnel have a complete program of benefits including a very advantageous pension plan.

On March 21, 2001, the City of Châteauguay, the Association des droits des minorités du Grand Châteauguay and the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse reached an agreement enabling the municipality to proceed with the creation of an equal access to employment program under article 86 of the Charte des droits et libertés de la personne du Québec, pour les femmes, les minorités visibles, les minorités ethniques, les autochtones et les personnes handicapées. The goal is to reach an equal representation of these groups.

As an employer that subscribes to the principal of equality in the area of employment, the City of Châteauguay invites women, members of visible and ethnic minorities, people living with disabilities and aboriginal people to apply.
