Work blitz on the Mercier Bridge

Mercier Bridge

At the request of Châteauguay Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier, mitigation measures to ease traffic congestion on the Mercier Bridge have been put in place and will be in force starting on Tuesday, July 3: 

Measures in force starting on July 3

  • New express shuttles with departures from Châteauguay (addition of parking spaces in the former Zellers parking lot) to the Angrignon terminal
  • Prohibition to take the Mercier Bridge for heavy trucks at rush hour, from Monday to Friday between 5 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. (heading to Montreal) and between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. (heading to the South shore) 
  • Toll free for heavy vehicles on the A-30 Bridge during rush hour, from Monday to Friday, from 4:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. (heading to Vaudreuil) and from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 pm (heading to Brossard) 
  • Free public transportation on July 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9 between Châteauguay and Montreal (in both directions, Southwest and Haut-Saint-Laurent sectors)
  • Free transportation on July 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9 throughout the STM (bus and metro) network on the presentation of a card available at the exit of the train or bus
  • Another period of free public transportation, for both the South Shore sector and the STM network, to come in August.
