Return of the free document shredding for Earth Day

Published on 28 March 2022

Châteauguay, March 28, 2022 – The Ville de Châteauguay is pleased to announce the return of the free document shredding event on Earth Day, Saturday, April 23, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Agora.

After two years of absence due to health restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the activity is back to allow everyone to dispose of their confidential documents in a completely safe manner.

As of 1 p.m., a truck from Confidentiel Déchiquetage will be present at the Agora, located at 75 boulevard Maple, to welcome citizens wishing to dispose of their documents. There is no limit to the quantity of papers brought in. The boxes can contain staples, file folders, bulky documents, rubber bands and paper clips. However, metal clips, cardboard file boxes, metal ring binders and audio/video equipment are not accepted.

The service is free of charge and does not require a reservation. In case of rain, the truck will be parked under the Agora. If the weather is better, the vehicle will wait for citizens in the outdoor parking lot.

In addition to the shredding day, other initiatives are planned by the municipality to celebrate Earth Day. More details will be posted on our website at ville.chateauguay.qc.ca/en/ in the coming weeks.
