François Le BorgneCouncillor for District 8 – D’Youville
François Le Borgne
A married father of two young children, I live in the centre of the district I have proudly represented since 2017 District 8 – D’Youville . My commitment to the city has taken different forms over the years, as a member of a variety of organizations, including the governing board of Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption (NDA) school and the Ville de Châteauguay public committee on ethics and transparency.
I have two Bachelor’s degrees, a Master’s and a Ph.D., and my doctoral thesis, which I wrote in Québec and France, won several awards and honours. I am a member of the Québec bar and worked as a litigator and legal advisor before I began teaching law in universities. I have also served on several bodies at the Université de Montréal, including its Board of Directors.
As an active and present councillor, I hold open meetings twice a month at the Café de l’ île Saint-Bernard (when it is open) at which it is my pleasure to listen to the needs and comments of the residents.
