Filling pools and hot tubs

Swimming pool

A number of rules apply to filling pools and hot tubs.

Applicable standards

A pool or hot tub can be filled every day between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., except Sunday, unless a water-use restriction or ban is in effect. To find out, please see the AlertEAU page.

In addition, if the City suspends the use of drinking water, the person who has applied for a certificate of authorization to install an above-ground or demountable pool will have to show that the work has already begun before the beginning of the suspension in order to be authorized to fill the new pool to maintain the shape of the structure.
