List of Organizations with a Solicitation Permit
Under the municipal by-law, it is prohibited to go from door to door without a solicitation permit. In Québec, anyone who wishes to engage in door-to-door solicitation must also obtain a permit from the Office de la protection du consommateur. The canvassing times permitted by the by-law are from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., every day of the week.
Having a permit does not constitute a guarantee of honesty or competency, and the city does not in any way warrant the goods or services sold or the qualifications of the representatives.
These are the organizations and businesses that have obtained authorization to canvas from the city.
Organization | Activity | Date or period |
Bell Canada | Telecommunications services | Until 27 April 2022 |
Other organizations, such as the Fire safety service or the company hired to carry out property assessments, may benefit from exceptions. To find out more, please see the by-law.
Please note that although the list is updated regularly, many applications may still be undergoing processing. We recommend that you check the list regularly. (Last update: May 8, 2021)
