Pools (removal – inground, aboveground, portable or inflatable)

In-ground and semi-inground pools

A permit is required for removal.

Above-ground pool 

No permit is required; however, a declaration of removal must be made.

Portable and inflatable pools

A declaration of removal is required, but only for final removal – not for each dismantling.

  1. Complete the in-ground pool removal declaration form (PDF).
  2. Have on hand a letter regarding the backfilling of the ground:
    • indicating the source of the backfill;
    • confirming that the soil is not contaminated.
  1. Bring all required documents to the Division inspection et permis, at City Hall, where your application will be processed.

PERMIT VALIDITY PERIOD

12 months for in-ground and semi-inground pools

COMPLIANCE WITH BY-LAWS

Please note that under the taxation and pricing by-law:

The tax for the swimming pool will be removed from your tax account upon receipt of the removal declaration. However, it should be noted that the tax credit will not be granted if the pool is removed during the fiscal year
