Info-neige – Overnight parking and follow-up of snow removal operations

The Info-neige Service allows you to know on a daily basis whether the ban on street parking at night applies or not during the winter season. It also allows you to follow the progress of snow clearing and removal operations carried out by the municipality.

Overnight parking

Under the current municipal regulation, it is permitted to park on the streets overnight, between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., if no prohibition notice is issued by the municipality. Parking is permitted when no snow removal operations are planned in the area.

The parking ban or permission status will be indicated as of 5:00 p.m. on our various communication platforms. The status remains in force until changes are brought into effect. No publication will be issued if the status remains unchanged.

Permission to park your vehicle is only granted on the even numbered side of the streets. This applies to the entire municipality, with the exception of streets where signs already prohibit parking and streets appearing on the list of exceptions.

Notices of parking bans or permissions are also announced on:

  • In order to allow for the passage of emergency vehicles at all times, parking permits do not apply to streets that are 6.5 meters wide or less. The same applies to certain private streets and to areas where parking is already prohibited by signage.

Consult the list of streets where winter overnight parking is prohibited at all times

  • In the event of non-compliance with the regulation on overnight parking, fines will be issued to the offenders. The amount of the fine varies between $100 and $150, plus costs.

  • In the event of non-compliance with the regulation, the City may, at the owner’s expense, have a vehicle towed in order to move it. The towed vehicles are taken to a place located as close as possible where they were towed from.

The parking lots at the Agora (75 boulevard Maple) and Saint-Joachim Church (1 boulevard D’Youville) have been identified to receive the vehicles.

Follow-up of snow removal operations

This service was set up to inform the population about the progress of operations. It also allows municipal crews and private snow removal contractors duly registered with the municipality to coordinate their operations in order to improve efficiency.
