Paying Your Tax Bill

The taxes are paid in four instalments, based on the following schedule. If your tax bill is $300 or less, it is payable in a single instalment. No official receipt is issued.

For 2020, the deadlines for the four instalments are:

  • 1st instalment: February 6, 2020
  • 2nd instalment: May 7, 2020
  • 3rd instalment: July 9, 2020
  • 4th instalment: November 5, 2020

Under the terms of the law, the payments must be made by these dates or interest will be charged at an annual rate of 11%, plus annual penalty fees of 5%.

COVID-19 : suspension of interest on tax payments is maintained

In order to relieve the tax burden on residents and businesses facing financial difficulties during this period of instability, the city has suspended interest on tax payments until the November instalment for business owners, merchants and residents.
